I've worn these a couple weeks now and I have to update my review. The first week was heaven. Clouds on my feet. I had worn cotton socks the first week that had no slide to them. The shoes, while bigger than I normally wear, were comfy with the straps and I had no issues. The second week, I wore a knit anklet sock and found these to feel larger than I wanted (I did order a size up to be fair..would have been okay to order my true size or only 1/2 size up) and my foot slid around on the foot bed. Then, the horror of foot pain began to set in toward the end of the day. I loved these shoes all day and into the eve the first week. This second week however, by 3:00 my feet were in pain and I couldn't wait to get the shoes off. :( I think I did cry a bit. So, I need to wear cotton socks that are thicker because of my choice to buy a size bigger than I should have; that's my fault. I don't like the lack of support as the day progresses but they do get me through an 8:00-3:00 job which is better than what I had been experiencing with my other shoes. I still like them a lot but I'm not raving at this point Maybe a loud cheer! Still a good shoe.Did I say Wonderful? I am a mess when it comes to my feet and legs. Fibro, Neuropathy, Arthritis, Diabetes and severe leg swelling. I have tried Dansko, L'Artiste, Dr. Scholl's, Ryka...you name it! Shoes that are supposed to help with flat feet, hurting feet, etc. NOTHING ever helped. Skechers could help for a couple months and then they'd feel as if they had no support. I have been in chronic pain for years (I am overweight as well...yup, some people got the great gene pool, I..alas, did not!) and haven't been able to walk around the block without looking like Igor hunched over, dragging my left leg forward as I walked with a feeling of knives being stabbed into my legs and burning on the bottom of my feet. One may think I over-exaggerate. If you suffer like I do, you know exactly what I am describing and how it feels.I was skeptical of this shoe. My thought of orthopedic shoes kept me from pushing the order button for months. I am so glad that I finally gave in and ordered these shoes. First of all, they are bright, beacon red. Everyone looks right at my feet when they greet me but hey, I don't care as I'm totally rockin' and feeling like anything but a decrepit, old person (and I'm only 55). The minute I put on these shoes my feet felt better. I kid you not. They do look like orthopedic shoes for Mary Janes but if you tell people they are a sandal-like tennis shoe, the reaction is more "hey, cool" instead of feeling sorry for me.The size guide said to measure your foot. I normally wear an 11 due to an 11 inch foot but now, sizes have gone up and an 11 inch foot means a size 12! I ordered the 12 and while there is roominess in the shoe, and lots of toe room. In addition to all of the wonderful problems I have, I also have bunions and calloused feet. Neither bothered me in these shoes. The strap tightens them to make them secure and the first day I wore them, I had no swelling whatsoever and I could actually walk without any pain. I actually walked for about 15 minutes and it was like walking on clouds of cushion that supported every step. I've worn them daily and I have had less leg pain, more spring to my step and now, I am looking forward to walking again.I do know that these shoes attract a lot of attention. They are bright and the style is different and a bit clunky. However, when I am able to navigate around work and outside and have not a smidgen of pain...something I have dealt with for years now; I have to say these shoes... Dr. Drew's are simply quite wonderful.I really love how these shoes look and was really hoping they'd be as comfortable as they look. for the most part, they are really comfortable and they're also true to size. I ordered them in size 9 and they fit just as they should. The problem is that where the seams, from the front of the shoe meets the side, next to the pinky toes, the seam is extra thick where the 2 materials and black edging all come together and it creates extra pressure against the pinky toes that was immediately painful. I'm going to wear them in the house for a few days and see if "breaking them in" will help with this. If it doesn't, I'll have to send them back. These shoes are very nice and well-made attractive enough shoes that you could wear it for just about anything except a dressy eventIt's a beautiful shoe, made with quality but too small for me, sorry I have to return them, I really wanted them to work!Great seller, product arrived very fast! But they rub against my little ties even with thick socks on. I am hoping they will break in and stop.I like them, however I would like them better with the lower half matching the upper half. In other words all red. Not Ted and white.looks nicer in the picture then person, but runs too largeNothing more to say than the headline. They are stiff, like cardboard, ugly, and really uncomfortable. I couldn't wear them again after the first try. It wasn't the size - it was the way they're constructed. Cheap junk!
