Whoever complained that this was difficult to read needs to go back to the Alfred big-note editions because this music in it’s original typeset, including lots of music missing bar lines, is a joy to read.Mompou’s music hovers in a strange realm that is part Erik Satie, part Morton Feldman, part Poulenc, but wholly original. I purchased this because it has the complete Musica Callada, four books of transcendentally beautiful yet understated “silent music.” The rest of the collection is just as interesting.A great selection of music by a composer that deserves more attention. Highly recommended.
